 BRITISH WOOL
British Wool is a superior, natural fibre, thanks to a special combination of bulk, resilience, softness and warmth. British wool is used predominantly and recognised worldwide, as a quality carpet fibre. It is also ideal for casual, country style knitwear and tweed fabrics, knitting yarns, bedding and household products.

The BWMB works alongside the textile industry to raise the profile of British wool and extend its desirability through promotional and technical assistance and a wide range of promotional material. Its shepherd's crook symbol is a mark of quality, licensed throughout the world, and it is only available to spinners and manufacturers who are producing products which meet the BWMB's exacting criteria.

British Wool introduce yarn innovation with Shades of Nature

The BWMB will be exhibiting at the National Floor Show in Harrogate and will launch its latest yarn box innovation - Shades of Nature - featuring new twist yarn options for tufted carpet ranges.

Featuring eight natural shades including a natural black and three blended shades, the yarn collection highlights the natural characteristics and textures of wool from British sheep breeds.

British Wool has a robust resilience, which resists high-pressure footfall and is highly retardant to fire without the need for additional treatments and does not emit noxious fumes. Additionally, British Wool's natural heritage is increasingly appealing to the consumer.

"Shades of Nature is a tool for the carpet industry, devised to meet the current demand for 100% natural wool within carpet ranges. We are seeing a rise in the number of yarn spinners and manufacturers that are now required to meet tough environmental specifications and we can help them to address this with British Wool yarns", said Richard Poole of the BWMB.
