New Board member for BWMBs English Northern Region

Following the retirement of Malcolm Corbett, the result of the recent Board Member Election in the English Northern Region, is that Carl Stephenson, who farms in Teesdale, Co Durham, has been elected to the British Wool Marketing Board for a three year term beginning on 1 April. [more]

Campaign for Wool
The Campaign for Wool is a cross-industry initiative convened by HRH The Prince of Wales in January 2010. The Prince believes the natural, sustainable origin and highly technical structure of wool can offer fashion, interiors and the built environment many superior benefits.

Campaign for Wool's 5th Anniversary
To commemorate the 5th anniversary of the Campaign for Wool, the campaign's Patron His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales hosted a major celebration of wool at Clarence House.

Attended by a host of key guests representing brands and fashion designers from the Wool Collection, the occasion was marked with enlightening talks by very special guests including Nicholas Coleridge CBE, Chairman of the Campaign for Wool.

Seeking to highlight two of the Campaign's most frequently made claims regarding wool's benefits: firstly, that it is a supremely safe fibre thanks to its natural fire retardant properties and that secondly, wool quickly biodegrades in soil -- a key ecological benefit, the day centred around two tests and an immersive wool fashion and interiors presentation.
