Our mission is to drive sustainable demand for British wool in order to maximise returns for our members.

Meet our new Field Officer, Grace Gibbs

British Wool has appointed a new Field Officer for the Derbyshire & Staffordshire area, Grace Gibbs.

A graduate from Harper Adams University, Grace will be responsible for liaison with local sheep farmers, attending livestock markets, agricultural shows and events in the area. Grace lives on the family farm in Buxton, and has recently returned from a working scholarship on a large sheep, beef and dairy farm in New Zealand, gaining valuable experience in different agricultural practices.

Grace will work closely with the teams at British Wool depots in the area – Ashbourne, Buxton and Longford – helping sheep farmers access all elements of the British Wool service.

Gareth Jones, Producer Marketing Manager said “The role of Field Officer is crucial to our business, providing an important link between local producers and our depot network. We’re delighted to welcome Grace to the team – look out for her at an auction mart soon!”

Grace commented “I’m very much looking forward to supporting the local sheep farming community. British Wool provides a unique and valuable service to sheep farmers, helping them realise the true market value for their wool. We’ve got a great message and I’m looking forward to explaining this in more detail.”
