Scottish Wool Puts a Spring in the Step at Board Room Level
15/06/2005
> Scottish Wool Puts a Spring in the Step at Board Room Level

A carpet made from a high proportion of Scottish wool has put a spring in the step of Board members of the Royal Highland and Agricultural Society of Scotland.

The woven Axminster, from the Renaissance range made by Brintons Ltd - the largest single user of British Wool - covers 138sq metres and was fitted as part of an overall £50,000 makeover of the Society's headquarters at Ingliston.

British Wool is known to be strong and highly crimped offering a 'spring- like' resilience to footfall and is therefore ideal in commercial and hospitality settings.

Brintons have an international reputation for quality carpets and have fitted many prestigious contract locations across the world. They are well known for selecting specific breed wools and buy significant quantities of Scottish grown wool each year including Cheviot, Blackface and Border Leicester breeds.

Ray Jones, Chief Executive of the Society said, "We have an impressive period building built in the 1840's in the style of a Scottish baronial hall.

We wanted a carpet that would suit the architecture and at the same time give something back to Scottish wool producers and to Brintons who support us every year."
