New Board member for British Wool’s Scottish Southern Region

The result of the recent Board Member election in the Scottish Southern Region is that Jim Robertson, who farms in Langholm, Dumfriesshire, has been elected to the British Wool’s board for a three year term beginning on 1 April.

Jim, who has farmed at Langholm for 36 years, has 950 South Country Cheviot ewes producing pedigree tups and ewes for sale, as well as prime lambs.  Alongside, he also has a small Texel flock.

On notification of the election results, Jim said “Thank you for electing me as the Scottish Southern Board Member for British Wool.  I was delighted to receive the news and am looking forward to fulfilling this role.  I feel it’s important to encourage the next generation to develop in all aspects of sheep farming and will thrive on the opportunity to explore all avenues of British Wool’s remit, in particular the auction and development of our fantastic asset”.
