New Product Development
Driving demand for British wool through new products is a crucial part of our activity. This helps increase demand for our product and in turn helps increase the price of the wool.
Over the last twelve months we have worked with brands to launch a number of new products across a variety of different product categories:
We are constantly looking for new uses for British wool and in the last year have launched a range of horse saddles with NuuMed and 100% British wool packaging with Naturwoolly-Chilled.
We are also working on a number of innovative new products which should be unveiled during 2022/23
The Headlam Group Plc are one of the largest suppliers of flooring to the residential market in the UK with numerous different brands in the retail arena including Manx Tomkinson, Kingsmead, Gaskell Wool Rich, Crucial Trading, Telenzo and many others.
Why British Wool?
We have a long history of selling wool carpets through our various brands but we had never really focussed on a British wool specific range. We want to not only create an excellent product using high quality British wool but also help support the British farmers by creating new demand through our product ranges. We have had excellent support from the British Wool team in areas such as brand creation and other marketing collateral including the on farm videos which we are all very proud of.
What is Wool Britannia?
Wool Britannia is a yarn that we worked on with the British Wool team, it blends many different types of wool from the four corners of the UK. We plan to use the yarn across a number of our brands. The first such brand was Manx Tomkinson where we launched our Seasonal Views Collection back in September 2021. The next brand is Kingsmead and we are already working on a new blend with the British Wool team for a number of new ranges in 2023 and beyond.
