Wool Sale Report for BW85 held on
6th April 2011

The eighteenth British Wool Sale of the 2010/11 Season was held by the British Wool Marketing Board at Wool House and offered 1,753,304 kilos. Following on from the previous sale the market remained very strong on most types, however, there were some types that reduced from the extreme prices achieved at the previous auction. The clearance was 94%. Compared to the last time sold: Pick & Supers firm. Halfbreds Hogs up to 5% dearer, Wethers 3-3.5% dearer. Crosses firm except Cast which were 2.5% cheaper. Cheviots up to 8.5% dearer. Best Radnors fully firm, other Radnors up to 7% cheaper. Welsh 4-10% cheaper. Swaledale fully firm. Blackface carpet white sellers favour, other Blackface generally 3-4% cheaper.
