Wool Sale Report for BW29 held on
10th January 2017

The eleventh sale of the 2016/17 Season was held by the British Wool Marketing Board at Wool House and offered 2,199,127 kgs. With a lower supply of good colour wools on offer, these saw price gains in what was a mixed market. The clearance was 1.32 million kgs (60%). Compared to last time sold: Fine types - No1's fully firm, No2's 4% cheaper. Medium types - No1's 3.5-7.5% dearer, No2's and Discoloured 3.5-5% cheaper. Mule types - No1's Ewes and good colour Cotts firm, others 1.5-3.5% cheaper. Cheviot types - No1's 2-3% dearer, others fully firm. Radnor types - Fine No1's 4.5% dearer, others up to 2.5% cheaper. Welsh types - No1's fully firm, others 3% cheaper. Swaledale types - 2.5-3.5% cheaper. Blackface types - 2-4% cheaper.
