Wool Sale Report for BW39 held on
15th August 2017

The third sale of the 2017/2018 Season was held by the British Wool Marketing Board at Wool House and offered 1,730,497 kgs. With improved demand and well spread competition today's sale produced an 86% clearance. The finer micron wools performed well once again, whilst the coarser types were generally cheaper. Fine types: No.1's 1.5-2.5% dearer, No.2's 2-4% cheaper. Medium types: 2-4% Dearer. Mule types: generally 2-4% cheaper except finer hogs which were 3.5% dearer. Cheviot types: Hogs 2% dearer, ewes up to 3% cheaper. Radnor types: Fine radnors 1-2.5% cheaper, others 3% cheaper. Welsh types: 2-3.5% cheaper. Blackface types: Cotts 4.5% dearer, others buyers favour.
