Wool Sale Report for BW21 held on
16th August 2016

The third sale of the 2016/17 Season was held by the British Wool Marketing Board at Wool House and offered 1,965,336 kgs. With a large and varied offering the sale started slowly but gathered momentum, finishing with a clearance of 85%. Compared to last time sold: Fine types - No.1's 3% dearer, No.2's 3% cheaper. Medium types - Generally 2-4% dearer, except Medium Ewes Discoloured which were fully firm. Romney types - Buyers favour. Mule types - 2-5% dearer, except Cotts which were firm. Cheviot types - 4.5% dearer. Radnor types - Medium Radnors fully firm, others up to 3% dearer. Welsh types - Coloured Kempy 4% dearer, others fully firm. Blackface types - The first small offering of new season's Blackface sold well.
