Wool Sale Report for BW65 held on
10th May 2006

The eighth Scottish sale of the 2005/06 season was held by the British Wool Marketing Board at Wool House and offered 2.58 million kilos of British Wool. There was a large and varied offering at the final Scottish sale of the season. The current volatility and weakness of some currencies against sterling contributed to a softer market. Nevertheless, 60% of current season's wool was sold. Compared to the last sale (Bradford BW64 - 26th April 2006):- Halfbreds 3% cheaper. Crosses 2-3.5% cheaper. Compared to the last Scottish Sale BW62 on 29th March 2006:- Cheviots 4% cheaper. Blackface Short Fine and Light Greys firm, other Blackface generally 2-3% cheaper. Irish Grades declined in line with the equivalent Scottish types.
