We are now looking to recruit a Warehouse & Machine Operative to join our Evanton team. This role supports the smooth running of warehouse operations, wool handling, and operating machinery to support grading production. Previous experience working in a warehouse environment and operating FLT equipment is essential.

The Role

We’re the UK’s largest wool marketing organisation, working with farmer members to bring high-quality wool to market.

We are looking to recruit a Warehouse & Machine Operative to join our Evanton team. This role supports the smooth running of warehouse operations, wool handling, and operating machinery to support grading production. Previous experience working in a warehouse environment and operating FLT equipment is essential.

What you’ll do
  • Unload wool sheets from vehicles.
  • Load trucks and containers safely and efficiently.
  • Store and move wool within the warehouse.
  • Weigh wool sheets upon receipt.
  • Prepare wool sheets for transport to grading points and lanes.
  • Transfer wool to processes within the warehouse via skeps.
  • Operate the packing machine in line with training and safe operating procedures.
  • Coring of wool bales when required.
  • Pack bales correctly and efficiently to maintain production flow with the grading team.
  • Enter data accurately into warehouse/computer systems.
  • Maintain high standards of Health & Safety at all times.
  • Carry out other warehouse duties as required.

What you'll bring

Essential: Valid counterbalance FLT licence (in-date) with 1+ year experience.

Essential: Minimum 6 months’ warehouse experience.

  • Experience operating machinery (training will be provided).
  • Full, clean driving licence.
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Outlook and warehouse system data entry.
  • Able to work independently and proactively.
  • Strong communication skills and a professional, positive attitude.
  • Reliable team player with a strong work ethic and attention to quality.
  • Good numeracy, literacy, punctuality, and attendance.
