Strategic Pillars

Our strategy is to promote British wool and differentiate our product from alternative fibers in order to drive demand and achieve better prices at point of sale. This comprises of four key strategic pillars.

Maximising Price

We drive demand for British wool in two main ways – firstly through encouraging brands to use high levels of British wool in their products (licensing scheme) and secondly by targeting the consumer so they are looking for British wool rich products when shopping for products.

Membership

We strive to maximise our wool intake by improving the service we offer, increasing farmer awareness of the work we do, providing valuable shearing training and representing the best interests of our members in everything we do.

Organisation

We keep operational costs at a minimum by analysing everything we do on an ongoing basis and through developing skills within our workforce. We also optimise our network of collection sites and hauliers ensuring it is always convenient and cost effective for members to send their wool to us.

Adding Value

We are constantly looking for new revenue streams that can give us additional income for our farmer members. Whether this is moving down the supply chain or by maximising our traceable wool sales.

As part of our forward-thinking strategy, British Wool is committed to innovation, sustainability, and the development of our people. By fostering a culture of openness and collaboration, we continue to explore new ways to utilise British wool and make a positive impact on the environment and the communities we serve.
