We are now looking to recruit a Warehouse & Machine Operative to join our Borders team. This role supports the smooth running of warehouse operations, wool handling, and operating machinery to support grading production. Previous experience working in a warehouse environment and operating FLT equipment is essential.

The Role
We’re the UK’s largest wool marketing organisation, working with farmer members to bring high-quality wool to market.
This role supports the efficient running of warehouse operations, wool handling and grading activity. Previous experience in a warehouse environment and operating FLT equipment is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload stock from vehicles safely and efficiently
- Unload wool sheets from vehicles
- Control the stock of wool within the warehouse
- Weigh wool sheets upon receipt
- Prepare wool sheets for transport to grading points and lanes
- Coring of wool bales when required
- Enter data accurately into warehouse/computer systems
- Maintain high standards of Health & Safety at all times
- Carry out other warehouse duties as required
Accountabilities
- Accountable for ensuring accurate weighing, recording, and data entry of all wool sheets received and processed.
- Accountable for the correct preparation and movement of wool to designated grading points and operational areas.
- Accountable for carrying out coring and sampling activities in line with required standards when applicable.
- Accountable for maintaining accurate and timely updates within warehouse/computer systems to ensure full traceability of stock.
- Accountable for maintaining a safe, clean, and organised working environment at all times.
- Accountable for adhering to all operational procedures, quality standards, and compliance requirements.
- Accountable for supporting wider warehouse and depot activities as required to ensure efficient operations.
What we offer
The role is primarily warehouse-based and involves manual handling, FLT operation, and movement of wool stock within the site. Occasional flexibility may be required to meet operational demands.
- £27,500 per annum.

What you'll bring
Essential: Valid counterbalance FLT licence (in-date) with 1+ year experience.
Essential: Minimum 6 months’ warehouse experience.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, depot, logistics or production environment, including loading, unloading, storing and moving goods safely and efficiently.
- Experience operating counterbalance FLT equipment in a busy working environment, with a good understanding of safe handling procedures and stock movement.
- Experience of weighing, recording or booking goods in and out accurately, using warehouse or computer systems.
- Experience working to health and safety procedures and maintaining a clean, organised working environment.
- Experience supporting wider warehouse or production tasks as part of a team, particularly in fast-paced operational settings.
- Excellent timekeeping and attendance.
