Based in our Bradford depot, supporting the Depot Manager, you will be a pivotal part of the team working 39 hours per week. You will play a key role in ensuring smooth depot operations and providing exceptional service to our members.

Key Responsibilities
Core responsibilities
- Work with British Wool’s network of Collection Centres and Haulage Contractors to provide an effective and efficient wool collection service to members in the depot’s catchment area.
- Assist in identifying new and replacement Collection Centres within the depot’s catchment area to enhance the collection service for members.
- Speak with farmers and members in the depot’s catchment area to facilitate the collection of their wool and encourage them to market their wool through British Wool. Handle queries and feedback professionally to provide a high-quality service to farmers.
- Co-ordinate and schedule deliveries into the grading depot.
- Work with the Member Engagement team in Head Office to ensure that key messages are shared with farmers in the catchment area, specifically targeting those farmers who do not sell through British Wool.
- Support the depot manager in ensuring that key messages are fed through to staff on the depot floor, particularly those who interact with farmers on a daily basis.
- Working in conjunction with the Member Engagement team maintain records on British Wool’s member database, e.g. new registrations, change of contact details, organic certification, etc.
Additional responsibilities
- Submit samples of packed wool for testing, update stock records, and ensure documentation is in place for wool sales.
- Support for the wider team by providing reciprocal phone cover for other team members in the depot network.
- Support the depot manager by monitoring staff attendance and punctuality, assisting with onboarding of depot staff, new starters, and documentation of sickness / absences.
- Champion Health & Safety and safe working practices within the depot, e.g. compliance, site inspections, signage, notice board, training requirements and documentation.
- Monitor supplies of consumables in the depot ordering fresh supplies as required.
- Support finance team by forwarding invoices and documenting petty cash expenditure.
- Additional administrative support to the depot manager as required.

Ideally you will
Essential Criteria
- Excellent communication, planning and administrative skills with enthusiastic approach
- Confident telephone manner and ability to cold call
- Practical hands on approach and willingness to get involved in operations
- Experience of working with MS Office (Word and Excel)
- Full driving licence
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of Health & Safety in an operational environment.
- Fork Lift Truck licence
