Shepley Yarns
Our family name is derived from old English meaning ‘the shepherd’s valley’ – and we pride ourselves on our ability to combine 200 years of age-old techniques and experience in the wool industry with our passion for sustainable, renewable fibres.
Pennine Collection:
Stock supported collection of fine worsted spun yarn. To celebrate the natural qualities of British wool, our yarn range also includes natural undyed colours, spun using wool from naturally coloured British sheep breeds.
The Tradition Collection:
Historically, a yarn thickness of 3/5 was used in Aran weight garments. This heavy count enabled quick knitting and a rounded, wholesome appearance which filled stitches beautifully. These yarns were traditionally hank dyed, a process that was gentle and slow and ensured the finished product had a luxurious touch.
Eden Collection:
A beautiful unique yarn utilising 70% organic British wool intimately blended with 30% natural hill-grown baby alpaca fibre. The yarn is then gently hank dyed to ensure this subtle blend of noble fibres will give a product which, when processed correctly, will give fabulous endurance and handle.”
