Information for consumers about British Wool Products

Chairman's Welcome To Graze - JULY

Welcome to our latest edition of Graze and for many of you, 2022 shearing will have now taken place - please take time to check your nearest British Wool drop off on our website. I'd also like to take the opportunity to remind you there is no onward haulage charge from an approved British Wool drop off site.

For those still waiting to shear, there are some useful tips on presenting your fleece for grading and maximising you fleece value in this edition of Graze.

Hopefully, we will see some of you at the shows throughout the summer and although we may not have a stand on the show ground, there will be British Wool representatives at many shows – please do come over and say hello.

We have now sold over 95% of the 2021 clip and for many core grades we are sold out. The first sale of the 2022 selling season takes place this month. Despite the ongoing energy and fuel concerns and the ongoing crisis in the Ukraine, demand remains strong with the price continuing to hold up and for the higher value types, still increasing.

This latest edition of Graze includes articles on our Depot Open Days held in England, Scotland and Wales recently and on our latest traceability partnership with Oritian.
