Information for consumers about British Wool Products

What On Earth Are You Wearing?

As part of Wool Month, British Wool conducted research with over 2,000 UK consumers to see how sustainably Brits are shopping and to remind consumers of all the sustainable credentials that come naturally to British wool products.

Our research highlighted a lack of sustainable choices made by today’s consumers when buying clothing and how genuine British wool products have disappeared from our wardrobes.

The aim of this campaign was to make British Wool part of the sustainable fashion conversation. Lots of similar campaigns across the textile industry are rallying against the use petrochemical derived fabrics. Therefore, we need to be part of this conversation in order to spread awareness of British Wool and the Shepherd’s Crook Mark logo, to show consumers how British wool can be part of the solution to a sustainable wardrobe that doesn’t cost the earth!

The Shepherds Crook Mark Licensing scheme verifies genuine British wool products and through the use of the Shepherd’s Crook Mark makes it easy for consumers to identify a wool product made with wool bought from British sheep farmers.

So far, we’ve been in a broad range of publications such as The Telegraph, Daily Star, Yorkshire Times, HuffPost and many, many more!
