Meet our Depot Member Services Managers (part 1)

The Depot Member Services Manager (DMSM) plays a key role within the depot structure.   The DMSM’s are responsible for maintaining a good standard of member engagement and ensuring a high level of service to members at the depots.  The DMSM role is varied and includes many key tasks at the depot including:

  • Dealing with member calls - booking in wool and other general enquiries.
  • Managing the intake of wool to the depot from members, hauliers and drop off sites.
  • Responsible for sharing key messages within the region around British Wool’s important role supporting its members.
  • Keeping member accounts up to date on the British Wool database.

Janet Miles

My name is Janet Miles. I work at Ashford Grading Depot. I have worked for British Wool for 7 years, previously I worked for 30 years for an Agricultural Buying Group.

My role at Ashford is Admin and Member Services, talking to members on the phone and when wool is delivered to the depot. This is important as it builds up a good relationship for both farmer and me, the annual catch-up at the depot is something I look forward to. I oversee all Collection Centre’s and hauliers to ensure wool gets to the depot on time.

Outside of work, I enjoy watching cricket, following my team at football and spending time with my 4 grandchildren.

Aled Evans

My name is Aled Evans, I work as the Depot Member Service Manager at the Newtown grading depot in Wales. My role is a combination of customer service, liaising with other depots and collection sites and administration tasks. The main goal of my role is to provide the best possible service to our members whilst maintaining the running of the depot office alongside the depot manager.

Outside of work, I enjoy various sports including football, pool, and snooker. I also try to get away for weekend breaks as much as possible and hope to travel more in future.

Helen Powell

My name is Helen Powell I work at the Brecon Depot, and I have worked there since 2012. My first role was an Administrator and now I am the Depot Member Services Manager.
